♪♫ "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day" ♫♪
A celebration of one of the greatest albums of all time. Welcome to Mike's Music Morning.
I missed the day itself, so please forgive me.
This post is dedicated to Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”, which turned 50 on March 1, 2023.
I was first exposed to Pink Floyd when I was very young, and don’t really remember, but came back to it in high school. I will say that I like DSotM probably the best out of all of their albums, but they have a great back catalogue…
I also like how there’s this…
It’s a little over an hour and forty, but have fun…
Some articles stood out today…
From The Ringer
…and from Rolling Stone
Ok. So, I believe this is one of the most culturally significant albums of the 20th century. Not only did it have some great songs, but it has inspired some really amazing stuff over the years, including Radiohead and Flaming Lips. I believe it also was a turning point for the band, not only due to David Gilmour taking over from Syd Barrett, but also turning from niche psychedelic group that had a core following (but not much of one), into a massive worldwide phenomenon.
Much to do today, so I’ll leave this here. Please read the articles, enjoy the film, and as an added bonus, here is DSotM in it’s intended glory.
Good morning from Western Wishes.
