What music evokes an emotional response for you? What song really twangs your heartstrangs?
I'm not even sorry for that one. Welcome to Mike's Music Morning, Vol. 3

Yesterday, I put the internet on shuffle. Wrote a blog entry about it. Was talking to my friend/partner David, and while I was doing so, a very emotionally provocative song came up.
My dad passed from cancer in 2004. I played two songs at his funeral. This one will always and forever get my allergies acting up:
I also played “Amazing Grace”, performed on bagpipes. I’m not sure which version it was anymore, but it was inspired by Spock’s funeral in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn:
I also love how the James Horner score swells at the end with a sunrise over a new world.
Also, I want to be buried in a Mark VI photon torpedo casing. Or cremated with my ashes spread over Yosemite Park. Probably easier to do the latter.
I’m keeping this one short, but there a couple more songs that will be forever imprinted on my heart and soul.
I listened to this one almost every day for about a year after my ex took off.
Pretty sure I’ve posted this one before, but this was my wife’s processional song at our wedding:
Glenn says both versions of this song are talking about Mom:
I was Glenn’s age (well, a year younger now) when this came out (1982).
I think that’s enough to be going on about for now.
Good morning from Western Wishes.
Kilgore
I have a piece of writing in process dedicated to all the songs that make me cry for various reasons (mostly my deceased parents). The other day Waterloo by Abba came on in the car and I was immediately a puddle. Weird song to cry about but most Abba will do this to me because of my mom ❤️. Also, a couple Alan Jackson songs, Home being one of them. Hank Sr.'s I Saw The Light.
I love your music choices and how Glenn is learning how music soothes the soul. Thanks, Mike!!💕
