Trump has a high, and very hard, floor of support. That's a big problem.

The flip side is that he has a low, and equally hard, *ceiling* of support. In 2024 the question might not be "which candidate do you support" but "which one do you hate less," and that's where I think Biden has more room to grow.

Which candidate one hates less - negative partisanship - has been the way of life in American politics for decades. Maybe longer. But it’s gotten especially bad the last 15 years. I refuse to play that game anymore. If I can’t truly believe in and support a candidate, I’m not voting.

I agree with a lot of what you say. For me anyway its important to support someone who supports Ukraine, reproductive rights and basic somewhat sane management of the federal government. I see the first Trump term as being horribly damaging to the US and a second term being worse.

It's not like I agree with every left position. It's just I am going to do what I can(which isn't much) to prevent a larger disaster.

You have a growing number of populist types especially on the right making the braindead decision not to support Ukraine. Trump seems to be in that crowd. You have this willingness to undermine just about every effective US institution there is and a desire to replace experts and high ranking civil servants with Sycophants. I'd rather try and prevent that.

So voting for someone you support more makes you feel better than accomplishing something concrete? 😉

First off, you never know, you shouldn't take any election for granted, probably. It also helps with data to see trends in geographic areas, and local elections very much matter. If I am going to be voting in local elections I might as well fill in another little circle to express my opinion.
