Very interesting, Sally! This has given me a much broader understanding of your mother's summer trip of investigation with the Lilly grant. I look forward to the updates to come to learn who will ultimately take possession of the story.

Thank you! I think there will end up being many layers to that. A copy of the transcript is at Earlham College (the Quaker Harvard πŸ˜…) for genealogical and general-interest purposes. Copies have also been made available to my aunts, uncles, and cousins. Many of my cousins did not grow up being brought to Quaker Meeting, and I actively don't want them to feel like they are cut off from this story, or have less of a "right" to it.

The physical leather book is with my grandmother, Mary Jane and Lizzie's closest living descendant. And my mom is working on a fictionalization! So I hope everyone who wants to be part of the story gets custody of some aspect of it. πŸ’œ

Loved reading about this bright candle of light in American history and your family's part in it. Thank you for sharing. β€” Glenn Perlman
