I woke up in a good mood today. All bets are off.
I have a lot of work to do, and I'm hyped about it.
I have a special affinity for pop culture. Probably because of being Gen X, and having some trauma. I’ve spoken on Star Trek, Star Wars, science fiction in general, high fantasy, ridiculous fantasy, etc.
My formative years were filled with things like George Reeves and Christopher Reeve both being Superman. Christopher Plummer was in “The Sound of Music” and “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”. The Nazi tie-ins are amazing.
I was also raised by my maternal grandfather. That instilled in me, a code of ethics. Also, an adoration of John Wayne movies, WWII shows like Hogan’s Heroes and Black Sheep Squadron. To say nothing of both Maverick and Rockford Files. James Garner was frickin’ hilarious.
There’s also the music component. A lot of the movies and tv shows that I love have some amazing music. First and foremost:
There are composers that are iconic. John Williams. James Horner. Bill Conti. Hans Zimmer. John Barry. Ennio Morricone. Danny Elfman. Howard Shore. Alan Silvestri.
Ok. I’ll stop. For now.
Music. Art. Storytelling in various mediums.
This is what makes life worth living.
